HISTORY

In early 2002, The Tammie and Ed Chism purchased what they thought would be the perfect location for their limousine service, Crown Limousine. The purchase included 1.6 acres less than three blocks from downtown Northport.

Crown Limousine opened its doors to its new office and warehouse on January 1, 2003. It took vision for the future for the Chisms, for it included in the land purchase was an abandoned, yellow brick building.

The couple promptly cleared the area, moving two mobile homes and began the process of determining what would be the best use of the building.

Although the two had no prior restaurant experience, they decided the location of the building would be suitable for one.

Combined with their fascination for the restaurant business, the idea of “Pigs, Chickens & Bottomfeeders” was hatched.

The restaurant’s name derives from the type of cuisine it will offer to its patrons.

After assessing the restaurant market in the area, The Chisms found a niche that no one has filled.
The restaurant will offer a menu of mid-priced, slow cooked and smoked winds, ribs, chicken, turkey legs, barbeque and fried catfish.

Completing the menu will be baked beans, cole slaw, french fries, hush puppies, and lots of crushed ice.

The couple believes that consistency of quality will help their business succeed. “People will like what they get here and they will want it to be the same every time,” Chism said.
