In early 2002, Ed and Tammie Chism bought
the corner lot on 5th Street and 30th
Avenue, close to downtown Northport, to
build a warehouse and office for their
business, Crown Limousine. On the corner
of the property was an old building made of
blocks, and painted an ugly yellow. After
turning down several offers to rent the
building, Ed and Tammie realized that the
property was a prime location for a small
locally owned restaurant.

Their unique concept, not previously
available in the area, was to offer smoked wings, pork, ribs and southern fried
